As I look upon this life of mine
There's so much good that I can see
And one thing I'm quite clear about
It's never about me
Since I was a little boy
I've seen such greatness all around
I've had the awesome privilege
Great people always me surround
The blessings are so bountiful
They appear at every turn
I revel in what I've never known
The unforeseen is what I yearn
As I venture through this life
As the future does unfold
I step through the unfamiliar
I accept the journey bold
I live to make a difference
In every life that I can see

For all of humanity
If I can offer some direction
To all those who've lost their way
If I can acknowledge their commitment
To transform their lives today
If I can offer consolation
To all those who grieve in pain
If I can offer boundless love
I say joy will return again
If I can stand in the arena
With those who think they face the end
If I can offer them support
I say they'll rise and fight again
If I can offer a kind word
To everyone I come to see
If I can see greatness in others
Who knows who they can be
If I can be all that I can
To honor human dignity
Now that's a life worth living
That is never about me
